Post Event review: With close to 30 people, including 4 from Central Coast, and the Witteried's from Cal Inland, we started with lunch at Chateau Basques, and a quick cruise as a group to the dealership. Brian, Justin and the gang at Porsche of Bakersfield took us into the shop to get an up-close look at the Panamera from under the car, gave out some nice door prizes, and best of all offered everyone test drives in the Panamera. Museum Website Post Event review: 7 cars with 10 eager Porsche fans toured from Bakersfield Porsche down 99 and I-5 capped by a fabulous twisty section through the Angeles National Forest before arriving at Nethercutt. It is hard to describe how amazing the cars in this are, many are Pebble Beach Winners, and the Collection features a variety of luxury items. Antiques, clocks, player piano's, the 3rd largest Wurlitzer organ, and my favorites, a variety of orchestrions. Orchestrions are similar to player pianos except they play all the instruments of a full band or orchestra. Done! April 25, 8:00am Sequoia Region Autocross, 12801 W. Shields Ave, Fresno. Done! August 21, Tehachapi Moonlight Tour Dinner & Wine Tasting Post Event review: Great adventure since Hwy58 eastbound was closed between Bakersfield and Tehachapi for what must have been a serious accident. We took the back roads and got lucky when the highway patrol allowed us to take the short section of Hwy 58 between Caliente and Keene(the only section that doesn't have any alternate twisty back roads. The delays caused us to miss the wine tasting but the adventure made up for it. Dinner was great and we even saw Johnny Cash and Willy Nelson(look alikes for the restaurants tribute night). Done! 'Zoom-Zoom...BOOM' performed flawlessly, rising to 13th place with 2 hours to go, then a pit speed violation judgement had us sitting on our hands for 30 minutes, knocking us back to 24th at the finish.
